Since I don’t have time to give my full written impressions of Children of Men, I thought I’d give a nice bulleted list of some things I noticed or thought were interesting. Quick impressions, go!
It reminded me a lot of Half-Life 2. The whole plot (freedom fighter vs. government), the gun noises, the dirty environments – a lot of things!
The cars didn’t look too snazy in terms of appearance (typical of common British Cars), but the interface on the windshield is sleek. I want, now!
Do people in the future hate people with vehicles? Twice in the movie, random civilians started throwing stuff at vehicles. Makes no sense to me.
What caused the infertility? Someone must know. Plague? Famine? Aliens? Something must have cued them.
Why do these movies/books that tell about the near future always have all of humanity living in run down apartments? What happens to the suburbs?
Why did the “fish” kill their leader? What was in it for them?
Finally, what happened to the people?! There was one new baby born, but thats it! And we don’t even see what happens to her! ARGH!
If you haven’t seen it already, I suggest you pick it up on DVD. It’s a fairly good movie, although it didn’t fully live up to my expectations. I need to see it again – maybe that would fill out some details that I missed!
I haven’t seen it, but Sheila said it was a good movie, just the ending sucks xD
